@snythoughts Ibn Asad There is a problematic confusion between textual authenticity and historical authenticity here. It was a later textual addition to the text of the Gospel, sure: however, the very story or incident is attested in early Christian literature (including Papias - ca. 110 CE).








chonkshonk The idea that people should not marry the Prophet's wives after his passing (mentioned at the end of Q 33:53) is also similar to the notion that others shouldn't marry a king's widow.




@coelacanthusa chonkshonk Rurouni_Phoenix Ancient peoples knew that severe burns can cause a loss of sensation. This is actually an everyday experience. From just briefly searching some of the ancient medical texts, I found Aulus Cornelius Celsus writitng about how after burns, flesh can be "dead" and not feel stuff.
