Bert follows me around the garden. Here he lands on HIS bath to see what I am doing, notices I have seen him & pretends to have a drink, & then pretends to have a bath. He then realises my task doesn’t involve him, so he flies off in a huff

Yes our tent is orange. So any wandering wrong ‘un sees it from a distance & will think the owner could be here even when they are not More importantly you can find it when you come back from the pub in the dark

Sitting here thinking through the important questions of the day: Does that rabbit forget he has ears when staring at us from behind that log pile, which he thinks hides him Do the marks a badger leave have to look like those of a velociraptor What time shall we go to the pub

She walks in beauty, like the night Of cloudless climes and starry skies; And all that’s best of dark and bright Meet in her aspect and her eyes; Thus mellowed to that tender light Which heaven to gaudy day denies. Byron

This is Bert’s armchair equivalent Totally relaxed, and sheltered from rain, away from evil birds & cats, he can see his favourite tree, his hedge home, my study window, and watch me walk up and down the garden

Bert used to go straight to the raisins. Not any more He is increasingly spending time with me. No verbals but I think there is a lot being said After a while the pull of the raisins wins, but the time spent is precious
