Yesterday, we hosted the Nationals Youth Baseball Academy for a special tour and scavenger hunt on the National Mall. The Scholar Athletes visited the Lockkeeper’s House, Constitution Gardens, and met the horses at the US Park Police Stables!

It’s so hot on the National Mall today that we’re dreaming of sandy beach days. In 2014, there was a LOT of sand on the National Mall! Artist Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada created a six-acre image of a young man's face from 2,300 tons of sand & 800 tons of soil. nationalmall.org/events

14 years ago today, a 5.8 magnitude earthquake shook the #WashingtonDC region. During the quake, the Washington Monument sustained damage to its marble exterior but remained structurally sound. The rehabilitation project was completed in 2014.
