🚀 Exciting news! The new Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Network HoloGen MSCA Doctoral Network is kicking off on Sept 9th! Led by Prof. Torgeir R Hvidsten @UniNMBU with 8 EU institutions, we’re diving into the cutting-edge field of *hologenomics* to uncover how microbes and host genetics interact. 🌍🧬#HoloGen

We are looking for two PhD students to join our @UniNMBU team to explore host-microbe interactions using genomics. The positions are part of HoloGen, a MSCA Doctoral Network. HoloGen MSCA Doctoral Network Phil b. Pope @SabinaLLaRosa Apply here: jobbnorge.no/en/available-j…

Check out the latest article from CMR’s Phil b. Pope, published in Nature Microbiology. The study explores how bacteria found in the gut of Atlantic salmon can support their health and growth. Read more here: shorturl.at/MfEIc

NEW RESOURCE: Using shotgun metagenomics, cultivation and metabolic modelling, the Salmon Microbial Genome Atlas will act as a resource for future studies on sustainable aquaculture @SabinaLLaRosa Phil b. Pope Arturo Vera @UniNMBU nature.com/articles/s4156…

Congrats to Phil b. Pope on the recent publication in Communications Biology, which demonstrates the need for high-resolution microbiome characteristion to design effective intervention strategies—in this case, to improve the health of Atlantic salmon. shorturl.at/4U2YO

A huge congratulations to A/Profs Simon McIlroy and Phil b. Pope on their induction into the ARC's College of Experts! 🎉 We are confident that your contributions will play an important role in improving Australia’s research landscape.

Our study on drug-gut microbiome interactions is out! 🦠💊 Nature Microbiology We show that the #Parkinson's drug entacapone induces iron deficiency in microbes, leading to selective inhibition of microbial activity. Check the full story here: rdcu.be/d0ZAQ

It is still possible to apply for PhD scholarships within computational host/microbiome genomics (hologenomics) at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences! The positions are part HoloGen MSCA Doctoral Network jobbnorge.no/en/available-j… Deadline: January 17th. @SabinaLLaRosa Phil b. Pope

Fun to share our data and hear about the amazing science and developments in metaproteomics at the 6th International Metaproteomics Symposium organized by Metaproteomics Initiative! An amazing time in the snow, meeting old and new friends.

We are looking for PhD students to join us at Centre for Microbiome Research. A range of projects on offer covering gut microbiome in animal health and nutrition, microbial responses to climate change and microbial methane mediation. More info found here 👉 seek.com.au/job/81728956?t…

Very much to our surprise, a strain of Limosilactobacillus reuteri drives severe pathology in a mouse model of multiple sclerosis. Pathology was driven by a secondary metabolite that hyperactivates the AhR receptor. See our publication in Cell Reports. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

The Centre for Microbiome Research Centre for Microbiome Research is looking for a postdoc dedicated to advancing our understanding towards the microbiological, biochemical and genetic processes that cause methanogenesis in the cow rumen. More info 👉 qut.nga.net.au/publicfiles/qu…
