Citing recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics, CDC, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health and KY Department of Public Health, the Shelby County School Board has voted to require all students, staff and visitors at SCPS to wear masks when indoors.

As of Wednesday morning, 64 percent of Kentucky's 171 school districts have announced they will continue to require all students, staff and visitors to wear masks after SB1 goes into effect on Friday eliminating the statewide mask mandate in Kentucky public schools.

Shelbyville PD is looking for a person of interest after a 10-year-old boy was killed Sunday on Zelkova Drive. 911 was called around 2:30 pm after the child was shot in the chest. Police are looking for Treymont Rucker-McKellery, 28, but don't know circumstances of the shooting.
