Earlier this week, Northumberland National Park staff and volunteers carried out the annual roof cut and rake at the Sill. This yearly tradition helps provide the right conditions for whin grassland species such as rockrose, thyme, and salad burnet to thrive.

Meet our new seasonal rangers, Frostius Maximus and Sillcelia Snow, who helped clear the snowy paths at The Sill recently. Unfortunately, they did not last long in their new roles and melted under the pressure, but their hard work was much appreciated.
