💿 ROMANTICS ANONYMOUS LIVE ALBUM ANNOUNCED 💿 Recorded live from its 2020 run Bristol Old Vic, Romantics Anonymous, a WiseChildren production, will be released as a live album on 14th February 2025, and will be available to steam on all platforms! 🎭

Relatable, well-rounded characters allows Kelly Jones’ words to flourish on stage, with a story that feels deeply routed in working out the journey of grief, and wanting to not disappoint anyone. The tender moments are the most powerful, and its ending is rather beautiful 👏

Focusing more on emotional standpoints than plot, there’s intelligent dialogue throughout, but the way in which ‘Thanks for Having Me’ is directed feels over-rehearsed. Audience distractions on the front row & sound issues also didn’t help this perf from its first scene onwards.

I struggled to understand the rhythm behind ‘…blackbird hour’, where moments lingered for a little too long & the pacing / tone felt a little flat - the text however is striking & tackles content which is so rarely staged, that it keeps you engrossed just enough when reading 👏

[🎟️ GIFTED] Forum Theatre is so rarely translated well, and it’s hard to judge here where our input sways the story, however Antigone [on strike] Park Theatre always has its stakes high throughout, with some great performances that fizz with urgency considering the subject 👏
