The idea to put the lights on Wabash was strategic: it would attract those who were visiting the Loop and keep people in the Loop in the evening, among other reasons.

The team partnered with Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media to work on their strategy for operating the lights. The students were the ones who came up with the idea of allowing people to text the lights to change the color.
