Wadsworth Atheneum celebrates the 350th anniv of #RosalbaCarriera's birth in spectacular fashion - the museum has just acquired Portrait of a Gentleman, c1730. "We ... look forward to sharing Rosalba Carrieraâs brilliance with our visitors very soon,â said Director Matthew Hargraves.

Congratulations Wadsworth Atheneum on the acquisition of their new Rosalba, J.21.0433 in my dictionary. Superb portrait with silly attempts to identify the sitter (when will art historians grow out of this insidious habit)? enfilade18thc.files.wordpress.com/2023/07/rosalbâŚ
