Pret is opening on Leith Walk. It promotes a takeaway / throwaway culture in an area where we have so many local, independent cafes. Surely a Pret doesn't help to build community, or a 15-minute neighbourhood. Why did the planning committee agree to it?

Greening Up Our Streets at The Causey? We have the trees if only The City of Edinburgh Council will step in. We've been hoping so for 17 years 😳

It's five years since we posted this, and we're still waiting to see it reflected in practice. If 'walking and wheeling' really is the priority, we must see much more investment in better pavements, pedestrian crossings, etc.

Big win for The Causey at Transport Committee today. Originally marked for the shelf, SNP successfully tabled that it proceed in addition to formally being considered for Visitor Levy funding. 🎉

It was community led from the beginning - and they have been led up and down the garden path for over a decade. The council needs to honour its previous commitments if not to seriously erode trust in engaging with us. Let’s get on with delivery.
