So, I am trying to understand what relevance the Palestinian flag* & keffiyehs have at the protest against Sean Feucht at a church in Montreal. Is the idea to turn this manufactured controversy into an Islam versus Christianity clash? * CTV cleverly edited it out, see 2nd 📷

Since when does any 🇨🇦municipal govt think it has right to demand places of worship have a "permit" for govt "approval" to host religious speakers, artists, prayers? This is tyrannical ideology wherein the state is unjustly interfering with religious worship. Shameful Valérie Plante

Canada is in this alarming state now where a Christian church needs a permit to hold a religious singing event, but Muslims can block major streets to pray for months on end - even block the path of an ambulance - while the police look on as mute spectators. This won’t end well.

I am seeing many people trying to justify the banning / cancelling of Sean Feucht, on grounds that he is (they claim) a grifter / bigot / ‘Christofascist’ etc. I disagree with this justification because our fundamental rights aren’t conditional. We either have them or we don’t.

As a civil liberties lawyer I am deeply concerned with what has been happening with the Sean Feucht concerts across Canada. While park officials have discretion to revoke permits for legitimate safety issues, it is unclear that the decisions here are guided by safety or if that

Darshan Maharaja (@theophanesrex) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The Sean Feucht controversy has brought to the fore, once again, the fact that a large percentage of Canadians view other people’s rights as being subject to their approval. At the slightest hint of a difference of opinion, they consider other people’s rights to be forfeited.

This has been highly interesting. I wrote that “a large percentage of Canadians view other people’s rights as being subject to their approval.” And in the replies, many people are saying why they disapprove of Sean Feucht & therefore there was no violation of anyone’s rights.

I am not a Christian, but I went to a Catholic school, and one of the lessons I learned there was ‘Thou shalt not judge’. It is therefore interesting to see Christians in Canada judging Sean Feucht for his ‘brand of Christianity’. I was told that was up to God to judge.

The definitions of ‘hate’ / ‘hate speech’ & ‘freedom of speech/expression’ have been left deliberately vague - in the political arena, if not the legal sphere - because doing so is politically profitable AND because doing so has no legal consequences. This allows govt overreach.

As Cyril Northcote Parkinson said, “While government provides employment, it does not exist for that purpose.” My theory is that staffing at higher than optimal levels actually REDUCES the output of the organization -which is why services got worse with 40% more public servants.

“Ontario confirms Starlink deal cancelled, keeps cost secret” Taxpayers have a right to know how much this is going to cost them. Will the cancellation of the deal with Starlink be to Premier Ford what the cancellation of the gas plants was to Premier McGuinty?

A dizzying array of Pride flags in downtown Vancouver. I have absolutely no idea as to which flag excludes which gender identity. Can anyone who is well-versed in the subject help me out? This is on Nicole Street just north of Robson.

Given the slew of corruption scandals that we have seen in Canada over the past decade, it takes a lot of chutzpah to utter the words ‘corrupted US government’. The famous saying about pointing a finger at others comes to mind.

Interesting anecdote: I was at a store in Brampton today where they sell cellphone accessories, among other things. I asked him how’s business, and he said that business is down considerably, now that far fewer international students are coming. No more goosing up GDP tricks?
