After that walk-off drama in Game 3, is it too much to ask for a Joe Carter moment later in the series? Almost definitely. So I'm asking for it anyway.

The point is perfectly valid. Florida clearly seems willing to invest. So does Ole Miss. So it probably just boils down to personal preference. Who else is ready for WEEKS more of this?

I'm all about this kind of structure, a very incentive-based contract that pays out very handsomely as success scales. The cynic in me says we go this whole hiring cycle without a deal that comes close to looking like this. But we'll see.

What a small freaking world. His dad was my old grade school principal at Lake Castle in Slidell, then Madisonville. Actually trained under his dad (former Tulane player) when I was growing up playing baseball.

NEW: Dan Lanning says he has zero interest in leaving Oregon: “It’s zero. Yeah, I’m not leaving Oregon. As long as I win, that’s what I always tell my kids. If your dad wins, we’ll be at Oregon. So I’ve got to win. That’s how it changes.” (via Rich Eisen Show)

I don't view this as particularly likely, but it is an interesting point and maybe the only potential positive spin for LSU I can see from the current mess... in theory Tigers could hire the AD of the coach they're targeting now.

I think the fact that Florida is as competitive in this game as it is down so many players is a testament to the improved depth on the roster. Billy Napier certainly built that in a way his predecessor did not. This is not some monster rebuild.
