"Gut microbiota regulates stress responsivity via the circadian system" Cell Metabolism John F. Cryan Learn more: cell.com/cell-metabolis…

Delighted to share our study on sex-specific gut microbiota signatures of gut-brain phenotypes induced by early life stress available now at Neurobiology of Stress with coauthors Lars Wilmes valentina caputi Thomaz Bastiaanssen, PhD Paul Cotter Timothy Dinan John F. Cryan UCCpsychiatry Dr Siobhain M. O'Mahony !

APC's Gabriel Tofani is first author on a new John F. Cryan lab paper in Cell which investigates how Gut Microbes play a key role in regulating stress responsiveness throughout the day. Research Ireland UCC Research

Preprint from our lab in BiorXiv already available, revealing that effects of exercise 🏃🏻♀️on brain 🧠 display hormetic profile (improved cognition & neurogenesis when moderate, useless when strenuous) caused by microbiota 🦠signature 🧬changes CSIC Divulga SENC Instituto Cajal-Centro de Neurociencias Cajal-CSIC

Excited to share our new results! We (huge team effort led by post-doc extraordinaire Sylvie Lesuis) examined the effects of acute stress on threat memory generalization and engram ensemble architecture. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

#Stress & #Circadian systems are interconnected thru HPA axis to maintain responses to external stimuli. Mechanisms of signal orchestration are unknown. Gabriel Tofani, John F. Cryan, et al. UCC Ireland uncover #Gut #Microbiota as regulator of HPA-axis rhythmicity 👉 cell.com/cell-metabolis…

New week, new adventure. Happy to be here with Anna Aatsinki Leo Lahti Thomaz Bastiaanssen, PhD Alejandro Arias Danique and many others

I finally got to attend an amazing talk by Thomaz Bastiaanssen, PhD in the 1st Turku Gut-Brain axis symposium. So inspiring 🧠🦠💻 Turun yliopisto - University of Turku

I was honoured to give a talk at the 1st Turku Gut-Brain Axis symposium. It was such a wonderful experience with fruitful discussion👩🏻🔬 It was one of my most memorable days. We have two open PhD positions at the Laboratory of Translational Psychiatry at the University Hospital Frankfurt! Come join David Slattery and me in investigating what makès mice aggressive and/or impulsive. Details in the post below:

Gabriel Tofani Cell Metabolism John F. Cryan UCCpsychiatry Sarah-Jane Leigh Cassandra Gh Thomaz Bastiaanssen, PhD Lars Wilmes Paromita Kaulmann-Sen Fascinating about the L. reuteri! Very interesting publication, congratulations. Circadian rhythms are so very critical to health and to outcomes of surgical interventions and other treatments, etc. We need so much more research on this. Good luck with this important research!

Special Issue on the Microbiome in Health & Disease just out in The The FEBS Journal with reviews from leaders in the field. febs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/toc/17424658/2… Great to have another Lab Cover Image too -inspired by Gabriel Tofani review on microbiome in stress & circadian rhythms
