Class Two and Three had brilliant paddle boarding sessions today. To see pupils master the skill of standing up on their boards was amazing. Great to hear all the pupils making links to this morning’s assembly on courage. @GoodShepherdMAT

Year 6 were thrilled to receive a personalised postcard each from author of the brilliant Crater Lake series Jennifer Killick. The class loved reading Crater Lake earlier this year and Jennifer’s two excellent virtual visits.

Class Two and Three loved their ghyll scrambling sessions today. It was a great end to 6 weeks of outstanding outward bound provision. Seeing the pupils grow in confidence has been brilliant.

Brilliant to see our older children sharing books with Class One earlier this week in our outdoor classroom. Our Year Six group are really helping our youngest pupils develop a love of reading.

It’s been a brilliant day in school today. A fantastic sports day this morning followed by Year Six leavers assembly this afternoon. It was great listening to our pupils excellent leavers speeches. They are definitely ready for KeswickSchUKOfficial

Our school dog Ivy spent the afternoon with the pupils today. She loved being the special guest at the Year Six leavers party!

What a brilliant first day back after our summer break! It’s been amazing seeing and hearing the classrooms and playground full of happy excited children. It was wonderful meeting our 13 new reception pupils this morning as they join our Threlkeld family.

Our eleven superstar Year Six pupils are really enjoying Bikeability this week! Watch out for them in and around the village.

It’s great to see our Year 6 pupils promoting a love of reading to our youngest children. Class One loved having The Pig in the Pond by Martin Waddell read to them and were all inspired to produce amazing art.

Well done to all our amazing Year 6 pupils for completing a duathlon this afternoon as part of this year’s mountain festival. Thank you to all the brilliant volunteers who helped at the event.

Three of our Class Three pupils loved digging up our carrots this morning and delivering them to our cook for today’s healthy school lunch.

Well done to our Class Two and Three pupils for taking part in this afternoon’s cross county race. It was great to see all our pupils running with such big smiles on their faces. Thanks to everyone who came down to support such a brilliantly organised event.

Year 5/6 had a brilliant first session at Newlands Adventure yesterday. The pupils showed so much perseverance. The activities were based on developing teamwork, communication and balance.

Year 5/6 had a brilliant time canoeing on Derwent Water this afternoon. I was amazed at how quickly they all mastered a range of different canoeing skills. All the class were so encouraging and supportive of each other too.

Year Six absolutely loved walking on Blencathra today. An amazing day with a brilliant group of pupils. Thanks to @BlencathraFSC for arranging such a great day.

We had a brilliant kayaking session on Derwent Water this afternoon. I was amazed at how well all the Year 5/6 pupils did picking up such a difficult skill! It’s been fantastic seeing how much the class has learnt since starting our outdoor sessions.

Class Three loved their final activity session this afternoon. What a brilliant way to finish the half term! The outdoor sessions have really helped the pupils develop their self confidence and problem solving skills.
