Last Friday the Thumb Sportswriters Association held the 12th Annual TSA All-Star Game at Cass City High School. In the girls game, the West All-Star team defeated the East team 58-45. In the boys game, the West All-Stars took down the East All-Star team 90-82.

In a victory over New Haven Merritt Academy in Week 1, A.J. Fritz rushed for 182 yards and three touchdowns. He also threw for 75 yards and a touchdown. On defense, he caught an interception and made 7 tackles. For his accomplishments, he is named the 8-player Player of the Week

In Caro's Week 1 victory over Bridgeport, quarterback Mason Henry went 7-for-10 through the air, throwing for four touchdowns. He also rushed for seven yards. For his efforts, he is named the TSA's 11-player football Player of the Week.

In their season-opening tournament, North Branch Volleyball’s Aubree Deshetsky set a program record for aces in a match with 12. The feat came against Okemos. For her accomplishments, she is named the TSA's Female Player of the Week.

In the Owendale-Gagetown tournament, in which the Bulldogs won the tournament over Au Gres-Sims, Aubrey Hellebuyck recorded 12 kills and six aces. For her accomplishments, she is named the TSA's Volleyball Player of the Week.

In a victory over Whiteford, Harbor Beach quarterback Caden Bucholtz rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns. He also threw for 100 yards, a touchdown and three 2-point conversions. For his accomplishments, he is named the TSA's 11-player football Player of the Week.

In a victory over Memphis, Brown City’s Lawson Cooper went 7/7 passing for 168yds and two touchdowns adding five carries for 140yds and three touchdowns. He also recovered a fumble on defense For his accomplishments, he is named the TSA's 8-player football Player of the Week

In the first Thumb Sportswriters Association 11-Player Football Poll. The three undefeated teams come in with Harbor Beach at #1, Millington at #2 and Lakers at #4.

In our first Thumb Sportswriters Association 8-Player Football Poll, the defending D1 8-Player State Champion Deckerville Eagles come in at #1 with Brown City and Kingston rounding out the three. Bad Axe in their first 8-Player season comes in at #5.

In a victory over Reese to begin Big Thumb White Division play, Cass City’s Skylar Ignash recorded 2 aces, 21 kills, 31 digs and 1 block. For her efforts, she is named the TSA’s Volleyball Player of the Week.

In a victory over Vassar to begin Big Thumb Black Division play, Reese's Deegan Carter rushed for 131 yards, 3 TDs & caught an interception on defense. He also had a punt return & kickoff return for TDs. For his efforts, he’s named the TSA's 11-player football Player of the Week
