The 9th World Parliamentarians' Convention on Tibet (WPCT) commenced on 3rd June 2025 at the International Conference Hall of Japanese Parliament with 142 participants from 29 different countries.

Session II of the 9th WPCT (WPCT) was chaired by Yasuto Urano, Member of the House of Representatives in Japan and featured keynote address from Sikyong Penpa Tsering, video address from Richard Gere, Chair of ICT, and first-hand account of Tibetan political prisoner Namkyi.

Session III of the 9th WPCT on 'Tibet Narratives: Countering China's Disinformation and Propaganda', featured prominent speakers including Mr. Dilip Sinha and Prof. Yumiko Ishihama, Professor of Waseda University, Japan. The session was chaired by Dr. Mumin Chen.

Session IV of the 9th WPCT was chaired by Yoshiko Sakurai. Fernand De Varennes, Former UN Special Rapporteur, and Teppei Kasai, Human Rights Watch, spoke on 'the Authoritarian Regime of PRC: Challenges to Democratic Institutions and Human Rights'.

4th June 2025, Session VIII of the 9th WPCT on Tibet (WPCT) focused on the theme “Common Ground to Face Common Challenges.” The session was chaired by Tibetan MP Tenzin Choezin and featured a panel of prominent voices from across Asia advocating for democracy and human rights.
