A1: I don’t think you can ever forget the power of “word of mouth.” Effective teachers want to teach with other effective teachers. Build a culture that draws the best, and that becomes a component of your brand! #MLDSchat

A2: frequent followups when BIG situations arise. When a child had a flip-their-lid moment, my teachers appreciated a post meeting within a couple days to debrief. It allowed them to process through the situation, release emotions, and be preventative. Just one way. #MLDSchat

A3: my students always knew that we would process the situation together, make amends when needed, but that there were always consequences to their actions. #MLDSchat

A1: the art of “forgive and forget” seems to be a little lost. Wouldn’t be wonderful if mistakes were easily forgiven with grace, and everyone came in with an “it’s a new day” mentality? #MLDSchat

A2: oh geez! I remember all the panic buttons I hit early in my career, both as a teacher and a leader. I think I hit that button more than the snooze. It can have such a ripple effect in the building! Definitely not conducive for learning for adults & kids. #MLDSchat

A3: an umbrella or a shield?😜 I think what you have to keep in mind as a leader is invite and be willing to listen to all voices…even if you don’t agree. Always listen with curiosity and a willingness to learn! #MLDSchat
