Congrats to Honggui Wu Jiankun Zhang Longzhi Tan. By achieving the highest resolution of single-cell 3D genome structures (5kb) with scMicro-C, we proved the involvement of cohesin-mediated loop extrusion in human transcription, for the important function of fast reinitiation.

Latest #CDlab paper online now in Science Magazine: science.org/doi/epdf/10.11… In this important hypothesis paper we sketch a possible mechanistic model for SMC motor proteins that make loops in DNA. This is a collaborative effort of @HaeringLab, JM-Peters, B-Rowland,. and us 1/
Lineage-specific 3D genome organization is assembled by IKAROS! A product of over 3yrs of truly joint work between our lab La Jolla Institute & Katia Georgopoulos' lab Harvard Medical School. Exceptional effort by the co-first authors Yeguang & Daniela. Out Cell authors.elsevier.com/c/1i821L7PXmeET
This was a much needed answer to an important question emerging from Hi-C-type studies, seeing promoters coming together in 3D space. Well done, Eileen Furlong team!
It is official, just over 1(!) year after the preprint, our work characterising GBM patient-derived lines and relapse via Hi-C led by Ting Xie is now out in Nature Communications. You can find the full PDF here: rdcu.be/dHrrD ...and a tutorial in my earlier thread below ->
