86622 has recently left the UK for Bulgaria and 86610, 86632 & 86638 will soon follow it. Of the 100 86s built, 65 have been scrapped, 20 have been exported (including those 4), 3 are operational and the rest are stored pending possible export.

ÖBB has awarded Stadler a 10-year framework contract to supply up to 120 FLIRT Akku battery multiple units. The first 16 units will enter service in 2028, replacing DMUs on the Kamptalbahn from Krems an der Donau to Sigmundsherberg.

Siemens has been awarded a contract worth more than €2bn by DB and the state of Bavaria to supply 90 new EMUs for the Munich S-Bahn network. The 13-car units, which will be more than 200 m long, are due to enter service from 2028.

ÖBB has awarded Siemens a framework contract to supply up to 540 Mireo EMUs. The first units are due to enter service in 2028.

Alstom has been awarded a €4 billion contract to supply and maintain 90 new Adessia Stream EMUs for the Köln S-Bahn network. The fleet will comprise 9- and 11-car units.

French open-access operator Proxima has awarded Alstom a contract worth around €850m to supply and maintain 12 Avelia Horizon high-speed trains. Proxima will serve Bordeaux, Nantes, Rennes, Angers and Paris.
