Great engagement and lot's of discussion going on during Postersession "Supraglacial hydrology and firn" thanks to 3 awesome poster presenters Emma Pearce, Dr Rebecca Dell and Tom Chudley. We are very happy about how this poster session turned out!

HiDEM (github.com/joeatodd/HiDEM) seems to produce calving events which compare favourably with drone data from Tom Chudley at Store Glacier. Surprisingly for a Greenlandic outlet glacier, our calving events closely resemble rifting (lateral propagation dominates!)

My first first-author paper on #Cryoegg has been published! Many thanks to everyone involved in making it happen, but especially @CardiffColdClim VAW Glaciology Nanna B. Karlsson Tom Chudley RESPONDER Bryn Hubbard EastGRIP Camp doi.org/10.1017/jog.20…

Please RT. PhD students funded by UK Research and Innovation face a cash crisis. They are working full-time, yet earning less than living wage. With the rising cost of living and increasing pressure to deliver high quality research that benefits society, something needs to change. THREAD (1/10)

It's great fun to be able to play with this data and view Greenland-wide crevasses from ArcticDEM in real time - thanks Stef Lhermitte! I've also made it available to download - see zenodo.org/record/6779088

The Byrd Polar & Climate Research Center Glacier Dynamics Research group continues to reunite at #AGU22 We missed you, Ellyn Enderlin! (And Ian)

Thanks Prof Janine Kavanagh for having us!

Excited to present our new nature paper! Our findings show that an ice sheet retreated at up to 600 m/day at the end of the last Ice Age. Read for free here: rdcu.be/c9eZ4 Frazer Christie Sasha Montelli Dr Jeff Evans NCL Physical Geog 1/6

Not long ago we got to do something fun - an interdisciplinary workshop to explore applying analogue models to fractures and what flows in them in different settings. We have a fab session planned for you at EGU this year! If you work on ice sheets or glaciers using remote sensing and/or Big Data approaches consider our session. Hopefully see you there! meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU24/session/… James Lea 🏳️🌈❄️🛰 Tom Chudley

At #EGU24 this week? Want to learn about recent advances in remote & close-range sensing methods in cryospheric research? Then you may be interested in our session CR5.3 tomorrow! A few photos from @scottcrady from our recent field trip to Greenland. We were really lucky to have @scottcrady and @j0erey come and capture our work and there's a lot more to follow. @Bristol_Glac @GeogBristol AU Glaciology Sheffield Geography Liz Bagshaw Raya Treecharoen Tom Chudley
