The chairs (Dr Siobhán Jolley and Dr Tom de Bruin) particularly welcome perspectives that are often marginalized, silenced, or elided within traditional biblical scholarship.

The British New Testament Society cfp closes on Monday. If you’re working on reception or critical theory or doing something beautifully interdisciplinary we’d love to hear about it. Plus, the abstracts are v short so you could probably get it done quicker than you can eat an Easter egg. Try it. 🐣

British New Testament Society I’ve loved being able to recommend Dr Tom de Bruin’s ‘Fan Fiction and Early Christian Writings’ to stretch some of my final year undergrads with an interest in media and texts beyond canon. bloomsbury.com/uk/fan-fiction…

We're hosting the 2025 meeting of the Bible, Critical Theory and Reception Seminar here at Manchester R&T today, with some great papers ahead. If you're interested in joining us next year, drop Dr Tom de Bruin, Dr Rebekah Welton or me a line.

Last week Dr Tom de Bruin and I hosted a workshop at Radboud University on feminist biblical reception today. It was also the eighth hottest day since Dutch records began. Feeling very grateful for friends and colleagues able to be brilliant in extreme conditions and for what’s coming next!
