Government defeated 4th time on AI & copyright, again by a huge margin. This is getting into quite unprecedented circumstances as Data Bill goes back to the House of Commons. For the Wimbledon tennis fans amongst us, this is getting into Isner-Mahut 5th set levels now…

Iv worked in & around Parliament 24 years, including over a decade in Lords. Amazed by what Bns Kidron has achieved on Data Bill. This 5th defeat on AI will go in the textbooks as an example of effective campaign to get government to think again. This is now what they must do.

Brilliant news for music & Manchester. City & area has special place in UK industry story. Hermans Hermits, Hollies, 10cc, Buzzcocks, Joy Division, New Order, Smiths, M People, Madchester, Oasis, Take That, Blossoms, Bugzy Malone. Great to see another chapter will be written.

Take That, Joy Division, New Order and now The BRITs. Great to see Manchester’s music legacy continue as they take centre stage and host the BRIT Awards for the very first time.

Thank you Minister Nick Thomas-Symonds & industry colleagues Annabella Coldrick, Naomi Pohl & Dave Webster, for your time to discuss next steps on EU-UK touring following the recent summit. We need a new deal to get emerging UK talent touring the EU again.

Thank you Dame Caroline Dinenage MP for raising the important issue of agent of change to protect music venues. UK Music has long campaigned for this vital protection to be strengthened, & it is even more urgent now in face of greater liberalisation of our planning laws.
