Jake Knapp collected another course record for his mantle today at DGC, firing a blistering 11-under 61. For you keeping score at home, that's four course records in two days at the Rocket Classic. detroitnews.com/story/sports/g… via The Detroit News

MSU’s James Piot, the LIV Golf alum, made big putts on his last two holes to put him inside the cut line at the Rocket Classic. We shall see. It would be his first made cut on the PGA Tour.

The cut line at the Rocket Classic has, for now, moved to 7 under. That's potentially bad news for the likes of Keegan Bradley, Akshay Bhatia, Patrick Cantlay and Zach Johnson, as well as local James Piot, all of whom finished at 6 under. Still not a done deal yet.

Two players -- Antoine Rozner and Quade Cummins -- could've burst a whole lot of bubbles by making birdie at the par-3 ninth, but both made par, which keeps the cut line at 6 under. Appears that's where it will land.

Despite the projected cut line of 7-under having more than a 75% chance with less than an hour to play in the second round, it will stay at 6-under, with 86 players making the cut, including Keegan Bradley, Patrick Cantlay, Akshay Bhatia and Will Gordon, who will keep his card.

Sometimes, the cut line is the much more exiting story line on Fridays on the PGA Tour. It sure was today. Looked like 65 players would make the weekend; instead, 86 will stick around. That includes the 6-unders like Patrick Cantlay, Keegan Bradley, Zach Johnson and James Piot.

James Piot plays a ton at my home course, Washtenaw Golf Club. Why? Cuz they’ve got greens that are close to PGA Tour caliber, he says. That makes me feel a whole lot better about all my three-jacks.

As the horses head for home at the Rocket Classic, it's looking like yet another photo finish at Detroit Golf Club. Here are the highlights from Round 2, including a course record (again) and a Collin Morikawa surge: detroitnews.com/story/sports/g… via The Detroit News

Interesting video. Sounds like Harrington was pissed that Maltbie didn’t help him look for his golf ball. Maltbie absolutely is in the right here. It’s not his job, nor is it fair for him to help; most of the other groups don’t have on-course reporters with them.
