Ah, Friday pizza night with the girls… tonight’s indulgence comes courtesy of Pizzeria Popolo at the WaterWorks Food Hall. Generous, rustic slabs, crowned with briny olives, cured soppressata and dollops of ricotta. Utterly satisfying! 🍕 🇮🇹 #fridaypizzanightwiththegirls

The Daily Dumpling Wonton Co. is food done right Plump w/ pork & mustard greens, 10 to an order, filled with broth that whispers stories from a back alley in Shanghai. A side of chilli crisp like a punch in the mouth & you’ll thank it for the bruise Grab a window seat & eat! 🇨🇳

Another W for the good guys!!! To celebrate, our favourite bites at Sang-Ji Fried Bao (5461 Yonge St). These handmade pork soup dumplings are stuffed to the brim then fried to perfection… leaving the bottom crispy for both texture purposes & architectural integrity! 🇨🇳

Leafs move to 3 & 0… and all we can do is stuff our faces with the biggest curry chicken roti in the league (extra pepper) at Eadrey Foods in Leslieville. A two-hander so saucy, we quickly learn utensils are mandatory! We’ll wear the stain on our Benoit jersey proudly! 🇯🇲

Port Colborne’s got some tasty hidden gems. One standout: Archie’s. This unassuming sub shop is a local favourite, known for generous portions & warm hospitality… the kind of #lunchunder10bucks that reminds you just how good life can taste outside the GTA #weekendsinwinecountry

At Tiflisi in The Beach, the Khachapuri Kalakuri is comfort food with character. Georgian flatbread stuffed w/ stew, then baked until golden & blistered. Perfect for tearing and sharing. More than just a snack, it’s a bite-sized passport to the Caucasus 🇬🇪

For over a decade, Mother’s Dumplings has been delivering the same soulful comfort... unchanged, unapologetic, and better than ever. In a city obsessed with reinvention, this Chinatown staple proves that staying the same can be its own kind of magic! torontofoodblog.com/2025/05/01/mot…

This weekend we celebrated MrDGS turning 50! Darren’s the rare kind of person who has been a colleague, a boss, a mentor, and a friend... To celebrate, we threw down at the swish Vintage Conservatory in Yorkville, crushing sliders & truffle fries into the wee hours 🍔

The butterscotch dip at Tom’s Dairy Freeze on The Queensway is Toronto in a cone. Made with real cream, the butterscotch shell cracks under the pressure, adding a textured crunch. Expect a line on warm evenings, but the old-school charm makes it worth the wait. Cash only! 🇨🇦

Our weekly #fridaypizzanightwiththegirls got a spicy upgrade at Pizza Pide (949 Gerrard St. E), a low-key gem slinging some of the best Turkish lahmacun in the city. Think ultra-thin crust (almost cracker-like) loaded with a savoury mix of fiiiiiiixins! Not your average slice! 🇹🇷

We roll with our baby mama riding shotgun on a #weekendsinwinecountry adventure. The 13th Street Winery is often considered to have the best butter tarts in Niagara! We put this theory to the test and come away in complete alignment! Hat tip to ALL the moms out there!

Enormous road win for the Leafs last night. Rolling into Game 7 fuelled by a bowl of spicy, hand-pulled breakfast noodles from the sleepy Potato Noodle Soup of Bai (白家老汤). It’s our fave because they use potato starch, giving every bite extra chew. Napkins worn like bibs. 🇨🇳
