Wildfire Update, June 4 (morning) The Tantallon and Hammonds Plains wildfires are now under control, which means they are contained and not expected to move, but still not out. The total number of active wildfires in the province is now five. Below are details on these wildfires.

Many thanks to our staff & partners for saving an osprey family whose nest was damaged by fire. Hope For Wildlife cared for 2 nestlings rescued by Nova Scotia Power. @NS_DNRR staff built a new nest, NSP installed it on new pole with landowner permission. The family was reunited Friday.

Smileys Provincial Park in Hants County is closed due to flooding. Emergency workers are getting campers out. We ask everyone to stay safe and avoid this area.

Jerry Lawrence Provincial Park in Upper Tantallon is closed due to flooding. This is a day use park, no campers affected. We ask people to please stay safe and avoid this area. Provincial park advisories are available at: parks.novascotia.ca/advisories

Some parts of Dollar Lake Provincial Park are closed. The parking lot at the day-use beach at is closed to vehicle access due to a road washout. Campground Loop D is closed for road repairs. Campground loops A, B and C and the boat launch remain open. parks.novascotia.ca/advisories
