The next #NOS2025 plenary speaker is Dave Leigh of the University of Manchester. This is his first NOS talk and the first for a Manchester chemist. His research is on molecular machines and molecular knots. #returntotheroots

Happy to share Christine Kriebisch's work in Nature Chemistry! Origin of life research tests how biomolecules like RNA emerge from pools of molecules. The problem is that RNA is unstable. We built a model and tested production and protection of such molecules. nature.com/articles/s4155…

🚨🎉I am very proud to share our (Jiarong Wu) recent work published in J. Am. Chem. Soc. , where we use our imine-based photoswitches to drive a transimination reaction energetically uphill🔦⛰️ We are excited to continue exploring this area!😃Check out the paper at doi.org/10.1021/jacs.4…

Interested in learning how to form interlocked molecules that are not thermodynamically favored and therefore not accessible by standard passive template methodologies? Come and check this review written during my PhD now out in Chem Soc Rev 🤗 pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…

Don't miss this #OpenAccess review by Romain Jamagne, Martin J. Power, Zhi-Hui Zhang, Germán Zango, Benjamin Gibber and Dave Leigh "Active template synthesis" Read the full review here 👇 pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…

Budding molecular magicians are invited to apply for a 4-year PhD studentship on catalysis-driven molecular machinery (e.g. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/an…; nature.com/articles/s4158…; etc) available in my group, autumn 2025 start: tinyurl.com/kdw6mtcr. Position open until filled😃

PhD positions (SNSF) available at the University of Basel (Switzerland🇨🇭)! Join a new research group working on innovative catalytic pathways to produce endergonic/endothermic molecules🔥. For more details: endergo.net/joinus.html & [email protected]

Yesterday marked a major milestone. A smooth viva for a bumpy PhD. #PhDone Thanks Giacomo Crisenza and Filip Szczypiński 👨🔬🍷 for a genuinely enjoyable viva, and most of all Dave Leigh (and the group!) for believing in me and supporting me from the start!
