Loving the way comics and their potential are being discussed in the Harvard Radcliffe Institute comics exhibit opening discussion. @jcg007, Hillary Chute, and James Storm of Cartoon Studies breaking apart comics from the materials to design to the ways we can interact with comics in health

“Comics demystify the space of the hospital” - Hillary Chute at Harvard Radcliffe Institute Graphic Guides need to be in healthcare, & there are infinite ways to use #comics them to also demystify chronic illness for both peds and adults #graphicmedicine

Hillary Chute: #GraphicMedicine is powerful for patient narratives. #Comics express experiences of physical pain that can’t be verbalized. For me, intense #chronicpain erases all language & forces me to sit isolated in that pain when there is no translation Harvard Radcliffe Institute

Just bought this at Kinokuniya USA and excited to read a #manga with a major character with a disability. It’s not something we get to see often & has been popping up more often in newer titles. Especially romances & shoujo. Would love to see it normalized in side characters too
