Comment from a lower level college pitcher: “Our whole team uses Tread’s videos as our pitching coach.” That’s pretty cool.

Throwing 90 mph+ from one side is hard enough. Jon shields is doing it from both. 🔥 He’s worked with Carsie Walker to build up from each side in preparation for throwing in our Transfer Portal Showcase, June 11-13!

Access to dynamic, real-time imaging is a game-changer. A dynamic test like this can give an immediate look at not just the tissues (and any inflammation/tears), but the mechanics within the joint. If there is impingement, you can often see the tissues catching during motion.

An overlooked key for creating separation: Trunk posture at landing.🔑 The spine will give you more motion during the rotation phase when in a relatively stacked position. If the pelvis and spine are already jammed in end ranges (especially uphill or in extension), rotation

"Front-hip sinkers are free strikes at the right time and in the right count. They're tricky to execute because you're throwing against your break, but they're incredible pitches, and you don't even have to have an outlier sinker to execute it." - Ryan Flippo

Progress in pitching isn’t linear. Which means that most of the time, it actually feels like you’re stuck in place. It may take a thousand reps of “this isn’t working” before the breakthrough. This is part of the process.

How To Feel Hip-Shoulder Separation🔑 I'm a big fan of adding 2 types of constraints for pitchers who struggle to feel the pelvis and trunk working independently. ✅Adding band tension to open the back hip ✅Adding a counter-rotation component Relax, don't force the hips

At some point, we all have to take the uniform off for good. What matters then is whether you can look yourself in the mirror and say “I gave it everything I had.”
