Bronx students #learnoutdoors! The hands-on #treecare activities inspire students’ interest and commitment to the #urbanforest. Students learned how and why #trees are so important to their #urbanenvironment. This project is in partnership with Bronx Is Blooming.

Young New Yorkers across the city are helping us expand NYC’s #urbanforest! We partnered with schools in all five boroughs this spring so students can connect with their #urbanenvironment and #learnoutdoors.

NYC #tree lovers have been contacting us about #trees that started to grow leaves this spring and then the leaves died. The hot weather and high winds this spring can dry out delicate young leaves and kill them. The trees should grow new leaves in a few weeks!

A BIG THANK YOU to our partners @Temsaek who came out for another wonderful event to #steward 21 #trees that line a parking lot and railraod tracks in Long Island City - an area in big need of trees! They cultivated the soil, and added mulch and water right down to the last one!

We partnered with Ft. Hamilton High and planted 4 #fruittrees on their school grounds. Over 40 students participated in our program and learned about the importance of #trees, our #urbanforest, and how to care for trees. Great group committed to improving their #urbanenvironment!

A BIG THANK YOU to our friends Haymaker Group who came out to Greenpoint, Brooklyn to help us steward trees! Their volunteers removed litter from #tree beds and cultivated soil so these #trees can absorb badly need water to survive. Afterwards, they mulched and watered the trees!
