With blessings from her dear and loving family: I am devastated to say that our dear friend, community leader, mentor, family member, & renowned disability activist, Tinu Abayomi-Paul aka Empress of Twerk. NO DMs Atinuki Abayomi-Paul passed away at home on Thursday morning. She is finally at rest and without pain.

Her dear & kind sister let me know on Friday, and we are in contact with them every step of the way Tinu’s close friends and I are planning several things including a virtual service and a fundraiser for her family. They are traumatized and in shock. They urgently need support.

Tinu’s humility, dignity, legacy, talents, strengths, skills, and accomplishments all speak for themselves - but those that knew Tinu, know she was easy to love up-close too. And if you were lucky enough to be loved by her…you’d forever be changed for the better because of it.

We are devastated. I am heartbroken. I am infuriated. I am all the things. The move is giving me a distraction but every time I am alone, I sob and cry out her name. I miss my dear friend so much already. I hugged her about a week ago without knowing it would be the last time.
