Today was the official opening for the newly expanded NICU at QMC. The unit has been expanded from 17 to 38 cots and now has more family space, a dedicated bereavement suite and a dedicated teaching space and fully kitted out SIM area. 1/5

The intensive care areas are large, bright, & separated by glass privacy panels which help sound proofing. Each space has 2 armed pendants with all the equipment (ventilator, monitor, computer, infusion devices) in place. There are 2 side rooms and 1 ventilated isolation room 2/5
