On these frosty mornings, and during inclement weather, be sure to clear ALL windows before leaving the driveway. If your windows frost or fog up while driving, stop at a safe location to clear them. It is unsafe and illegal to drive with windows obstructed.

Snow is likely (70%-90%) across northern KS. A light glaze of ice is possible (30%-60%) along the KS Turnpike. If traveling, plan on slippery roads and poor visibilities. #kswx

Light snow ends by midday. A few locations near the Nebraska state line could see 1" of snow. Brutally-cold conditions build in tonight and persist into early next week. Be sure to dress warmly if going outside for any length of time. #kswx

This is near the U-75 and U-36 junction in Brown County, approximately 10 minutes ago. Complete white out conditions. Visibility less that 100 feet in some areas. Avoid traveling in these areas while these conditions exist and until the roadways can be cleared.

A huge thank you to everyone for your thoughts & prayers for our K9 partner who was involved in the crash Friday. Igor, is still in the ICU but slowly recovering. Distracted driving is a serious problem on our highways and crashes like this one are 100% preventable! #JustDrive

Rain and some freezing rain are still moving north across the area this morning. Even with air temperatures just above freezing, surfaces are just cold enough for freezing to occur and slick conditions are being reported across the area.

Due to hazardous road conditions, some motorists should expect to be stuck for extended periods of time. Emergency response is extremely difficult, and we ask for your patience as troopers work to assist those in need. Avoid travel to help keep everyone safe.

Road crews are working hard to clear the roadways, but please understand that the roads are still not good for travel. Here are current pictures of roadways from across the Troop B area. If you must travel, do so with extreme caution.

Even though the snow is pretty much done, the roadways in Troop B area are still mostly snow covered. Allow road crews time to clear them before traveling. If you must travel, please be extra cautious. Check KanDrive.gov or the app to stay current on road conditions.
