Another ExoMol announcement: IR/Vis/UV line list for YO (Yttrium oxide) is available at exomol.com/data/molecules…, also provided with opacities. The manuscript by Sergey Yurchenko et al. arxiv.org/abs/2308.04173 is currently under review.

Neptune's variable clouds linked AGAIN to the solar cycle (Wes Lockwood first suggested this more than 20 years ago; he and I also discussed in it in two papers in 2007). But this new work is a GREAT paper and data set (W. M. Keck Observatory Hubble)! hubblesite.org/contents/news-…

We found the methane! (in transiting planet atmospheres!) In transmission and emission! #JWST arxiv.org/abs/2309.04042 A great paper from the MANATEE collaboration, led by @taylorbell275!

The Webb telescope has detected carbon dioxide and methane in the atmosphere of exoplanet K2-18 b, a potentially habitable world over 8 times bigger than Earth. Webb’s data suggests the planet might be covered in ocean, with a hydrogen-rich atmosphere: go.nasa.gov/3sGKNLe

I’m pretty sure this is an accurate one-panel guide to Spectral Modelling, be sure to let us know if we got anything wrong #Chemistry #Modelling #LondonFashionWeek

The European project ATMOS participates in #nightspain #huelva #unihuelva. In this activity it was explained the role of the molecules in the Earth atmosphere and other environments.

"By comparing models based on opacities from the limited number of molecules available in 2008 with models based on a more extensive number of molecules available in ExoMol, we concluded that limitation in the classical 2008-grid did not affect the accuracy of the models"🤔

It is sad news of Prof Kamil Sarka passing. I was lucky enough to meet him at conferences and even more so to know his fundamental work on theoretical molecular spectroscopy 😥
