"..every day I speak to people who tell me they are struggling to put food on the table and are unable to afford the essentials." Good to see Charmaine sharing experiences from Taff Ely Foodbank & calling for a rethink on disability payment cuts. bit.ly/4kuys2F

Food banks from across Wales are on their way to Westminster today to call for an Essentials Guarantee within Universal Credit. 💚 Food banks are being pushed to the brink. Our social security system should at least support people to afford the essentials. We need MPs to act!

📣 NEW: Millions of people are turning to food banks because Universal Credit is falling short. And now the UK government is voting on brutal cuts to disability support. We’re in Parliament today to urge MPs to ACT on hunger and hardship.

❗ 86% of low-income households on Universal Credit are going without essentials. We’re in Parliament with Trussell and hundreds of people to talk to MPs and call for change. Our social security system should, at the very least, ensure everyone can afford the essentials.

Disabled people should NOT have to go without: - Food - A warm home - Dignified healthcare - The equipment they need to survive MPs must vote NO to disability cuts.

❗ Today, MPs will vote on whether to make record cuts to disabled people's social security. The scale of the remaining cuts will be devastating and risk pushing more disabled people to food banks. MPs must vote NO to disability cuts.

Things children should be thinking about this summer: - seeing friends - what flavour ice cream to have - what toy to play with Things they shouldn't have to think about: - not having enough money for food

❗ We don't need more food banks - we need change. Everyone should be able to afford food, bills, and the essentials they need to survive. Repost if you agree.

It's #NationalFoodbankDay, and 4.5 million children in the UK are currently growing up in poverty because of decisions made by politicians. A country that fails to invest enough money in its children and leaves the poorest behind is not a success, nor one to be proud of. Keir

🚨 BREAKING: 660,000 adults faced hunger and hardship in Wales last year. That’s more people than the combined populations of Cardiff and Swansea. Welsh and UK governments MUST act to end hunger.

Hunger is robbing children of their childhoods.  💔 Families with children in Wales are THREE TIMES more likely to face hunger. A whole generation of children have now never known life without food banks.  bit.ly/4nvaXIe

Lots of conversations with members, candidates and elected politicians about how to reduce hunger & hardship in Wales, at Plaid Cymru conference. We want to see all parties setting an ambition & plan to end the need for food banks ahead of 2026 Senedd elections.🗳️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
