FRIDAY FROM THE ARCHIVES | TCHEFUNCTE RIVER RANGE REAR LIGHT Built in 1838, the Light Station marks the entrance from Lake Pontchartrain. The 38-foot brick tower uses materials from the Civil War-damaged original & a lantern from Mississippi's destroyed Cat Island Light.
