Really productive meeting with FAO #COFI135 this week.

Our DG made an important intervention at the Food and Agriculture (FAO) 35th session of the Committee on Fisheries (COFI35) plenary on the agenda for Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) fishing, in Rome this week.

Its been a busy week for our DG attending #COFI135 including meeting with FAO Director-General, QU Dongyu in the sidelines of the meeting. Read more about the discussions: lnkd.in/g28tWPib

A real highlight for our DG this week has been her meeting with FAO DDG Semedo. They talked about areas for further collaboration between FFA and FAO, including assistance to SIDS, implementing SDG14.4, and empowering women.

Our DG Dr Tupou-Roosen is a new co-Chair for the Regional Fisheries Bodies Secretariat Network. She said it is humbling to be entrusted with this role. I am excited as there is so much potential to build relations and exchange information and experiences”
