When we design technologies with their users, we weave tools into life, respect privacy, and measure actual results. That is how a phone in a pocket becomes health in a home, and how technology serves the community, not the other way around.newtimes.co.rw/article/30330/…

2️⃣ How it started (2020) In 2020, Dr. Tuwilika Nafuka launched an online petition calling for the Sex Offenders’ Register. 💻 It gained over 4,000 signatures and nationwide attention, proving that Namibians were ready to confront sexual violence openly. #SOR #IANNACommunity

They called my push for a sex offenders’ register “vigilantism.” I call it protecting survivors in a system that too often protects perpetrators. #SOR #IANNACommunity

He raped a Namibian child, somehow they allowed her to carry to term the pregnancy that resulted from the rape and now same convicted sex offender rapes his daughter born of his crime. The sex offenders’ register is a need and so is legalizing abortion!

But you know what it can do? Prevent offenders from getting jobs where they have to work with children and vulnerable people. There is also no research data from African countries that have a SOR, so that shouldn’t be a hindrance. And the data the exist is a mix.
