I think I'll give up making pub videos, as I can't possibly compete with this guy. Very witty, great narrative, creatively shot, and he really knows his stuff when it comes to pub buildings/interiors. He even mentions Arthur Edward Sewell here.

Funny sort of day. A pub beer garden in what some have claimed to be Britain's only desert (that's debated) with a view towards a lighthouse and a decommissioned nuclear power station. Dungeness. Never been anywhere quite like it.

A relatively lightweight day of filming for a "different sort of video", so I am already done for the day. As I happened to be in Borough, the gravitational pull of the Royal Oak was inescapable. The Harvey's Sussex Best is sublime, as always. Everything I want in a beer.

For anyone interested in the rest of history (before pubs were invented!) Adam has some outstanding videos on YouTube about ancient Britain and its prehistoric monuments.

In my latest video (currently uploading) there's a cameo from celebrity diners "Topjaw". They may not have realised. Note how there's five of them doing the filming here. Including a guy with that reflective circle thingy. Not just a bloke in tweed by himself with a GoPro.

Clerkenwell: a very atmospheric and historic part of London with some beautiful pub buildings. The interiors are more of a mixed bag, and the beer offering even more so. Despite only having one good beer in decent condition in six pubs I had a good time. youtube.com/watch?v=aB_od4…

A bit different: the Ace Cafe on the North Circular. Established in 1938, the current building dates to 1949 I believe. Surprisingly they serve beer. Keg taps only of course.
