10 games down and on to the next. 500 lbs pre-germ and 800 lbs dry seed went down this morning. Mixed the pre-germ in the grain mixer, put it out with the Land Pride spreader, spiked it in with our Redexim North America seeder, and dragged it in with an old piece of turf.

The guys crushed it today. Mowed, sprayed fungicide, pencil tined entire field, watered, grow tarps on, and then grow lights. Time to grow some grass!

One of these days I’m going to write a book. Some parts will be funny, some serious, and some completely mind blowing. This industry is a wild ride.

I don’t post anything personal on here but today I felt like I needed too. My dad is in the ICU in nashville after rupturing his esophagus and today I walked in his room and he could barely speak and he asked If I would watch the game with him tonight. For people who ask why

Thanks to Eric Neff for the pics of this week’s craziness. Stripped field Mon/Tues, laser graded Tues/Wed, layed grass Wed/Thurs, rolled and painted a little on Friday and finished painting today. Shoutout to Bush Turf for all the work. Can’t thank my staff enough. The BEST!

Gonna be a crazy next 7-10 days of weather in KC. Covering the field with grow tarps first then rain tarps on top to get through the ice and snow forecasted, then take rain tarps off once really cold temps pass. Gotta trap as much heat as possible without getting disease.

This would be a great place to get some Sports Turf Management experience. Really cool stadium with good people to work with and for.

Took rain/snow tarps off yesterday and took heat from 70-90 from yesterday AM to today. Rolling 62* in the top inch under the grow blankets. Grass is a little yellowed from no sun for 7 days, but we have a beautiful sunny day today to head the right direction! Been a crazy week.

Shout out to all the Ops staff along with my crew for what the last 2 weeks has entailed. Crazy cold temps, snow removal out of the stadium, rain tarps off after 7 days down, and then grow tarps off on Wednesday. Have a little tip burn, but ready for the Divisional! Go Chiefs!

With the brutal cold we run SubAir in pressure in conjunction with our sub soil heat thinking it helps even our soil temperatures & get the heat closer to the surface quicker. It wasn’t until we put the snow tarps on we realized how much air is actually being pushed through the
