100 students from 10 schools participated in our districtwide Lego Robotics Competition on Friday, May 30. This exciting competition gave students in grades 4-8 a chance to show off the skills and ingenuity they've developed through their school's Lego Robotics club.

An exciting end to the school year with 6th-grade promotions being held throughout the district today! Sacramento Vice Mayor Vice Mayor Karina Talamantes delivered an inspirational send-off to Garden Valley Elementary students, launching them into next chapter of their education.

School may be out, but our summer programs are in full swing! Programs like Summer Learning to Advance Minds (SLAM), Summer Sports Academy, and High School Summer School with Eighth-to-Ninth program keep our students engaged and active during the summer break.

Celebrating our Dual Enrollment graduates with a wall plaque with all their names! Since 2023, nine Twin Rivers Unified students have earned their high school diplomas AND associate degrees at the same time through our partnership with American River College. #TRUSDProud

An exciting day at the Pioneer K-8 Freedom School Read-A-Loud, where kcranews' Cecil Hannibal shared “Sometimes People March." The literacy-based Freedom Schools organized by RobertsFamily(RFDC) use books reflecting diverse backgrounds to boost reading and empower kids to make a difference.

Big things are happening this summer! The Highlands High School Beautification Project is just one of 75 projects underway around Twin Rivers Unified. Stay tuned for updates, including progress on the Universal Transitional Kindergarten (UTK) classroom addition at Foothill Oaks.

The 3rd Annual Backpack Giveaway returns August 4th at Northgate Park offering backpacks, supplies, food, haircuts, and more for a successful start to the school year. Hosted by Sacramento Mayor Sac Mayor Kevin McCarty and Vice Mayor Vice Mayor Karina Talamantes, this event is open to all students!

Bowling, pizza, and games! Our TK-5th grade students in the SLAM (Summer Learning to Advance Minds) program spent the morning celebrating their hard work this summer with a fun field trip.

The Expanded Learning Summer Youth Workforce program develops leaders through purposeful, career-building work experiences! At the Summer Learning to Advance Minds program, these interns are at the heart of the action—leading activities, inspiring minds, and making an impact.

It’s the final week of Freedom School at Pioneer K-8, and the energy is still high as students dive into a vibrant mix of fun and literacy-focused activities. Trustee Sharon Reichelt joined in on the excitement, reading Mimi’s Tutu by Tynia Thomassie for an engaging Read-A-Loud.
