In the last 2 years cryo-EM structures have shed new light on the mechanisms of tail-anchored protein biogenesis from insertion to dislocation. Check out our review in Current Opinion/Research in Structural Biology, now online! sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

(1/2) Our work in J. Am. Chem. Soc. is now online. We have determined a novel 4-protofilament amyloid fibril structure using a hamster prion 108-144. The 2.2Å map reveals a clear water wire in the central hole with many typical fibril patterns. IBC Academia Sinica pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…

A new approach from Murphy Lab Olivia Pfeil-Gardiner Filip Van Petegem and colleagues enables elemental mapping in macromolecular complexes, by combining electron energy-loss spectroscopy with single-particle cryo-EM image processing tools. nature.com/articles/s4159…

Proud to share our first lab pre-print: “SND3 is the membrane insertase within a fungal multipass translocon” where Tzu-Jing Yang solved the structure of a ribosome-associated SND3-translocon complex involved in ER membrane protein insertion ➡️ doi.org/10.1101/2025.0…
