We did it!🤩 Every child in the class were able to complete their baby bear chair! Not only this but the children made sure that all of their structures were stable. Not one animal fell off the chair🤩🎉 St Patrick's RC Primary St Teresa of Calcutta CAT

We explored Skipton Castle today! 🏰 Can you stop the parts of a castle we learnt about last week? 👀 St Patrick's RC Primary St Teresa of Calcutta CAT

Skipton Castle 🏰 Today we have been to Skipton castle, throughout our visit we learnt about the rooms within the castle, what they were used for and why castles were built to protect those who lived inside them.💂🏼♀️ St Patrick's RC Primary St Teresa of Calcutta CAT

Skipton Castle Part 2 🏰 How dark was it for prisoners in the dungeon may you ask? We saw the beautiful scenery which surround the castle and looked at the smallest fireplace. It was such a good day it really did tire us out 😴 St Patrick's RC Primary St Teresa of Calcutta CAT

Skipton Castle Part 3 🏰 We have our very own defenders. The children learnt that the slits in castle walls are called arrow loops. Knights used to shoot arrows from these to defend the castle, I think we have some real shooters here 🏹 St Patrick's RC Primary St Teresa of Calcutta CAT

Skipton Castle Part 4 🏰 A final post from the most amazing day. A smiling, happy cohort of children enjoying the sunshine in the castle courtyard 📸 😀 St Patrick's RC Primary St Teresa of Calcutta CAT

In continuous provision this week the children have been constructing their own castles. Once they have constructed them they have been discussing the parts of the castle. Did you know the blue around the castle is the moat? St Patrick's RC Primary St Teresa of Calcutta CAT

In Art the children have been exploring clay. They have explored how clay can be shaped by hand and have learnt the basic skills to apply when making a simple model. 🖼️ St Patrick's RC Primary St Teresa of Calcutta CAT

The children have been practising using the ‘score and slip’ clay joining technique to create their own pinch pot. They also decorated their pinch pots by joining clay shapes. St Patrick's RC Primary St Teresa of Calcutta CAT

Take a look at our fantastic pinch pots! 👀 The children used their knowledge of clay techniques such as the ‘score and slip’ method to design their pinch pots. Can you identify some of the children’s decorations? I’m sure I can see a smiley face 😊 St Patrick's RC Primary St Teresa of Calcutta CAT

What a wonderful morning we had taking part in our inter school sports competition. The children were involved in various sporting activities and consolidated their knowledge of skills. ⚽️ 🏀 St Patrick's RC Primary St Teresa of Calcutta CAT
