.@CAGovernor Newsom and the Legislature have finalized the state budget. They’ve demonstrated their commitment to University of California by promising not to cut higher ed. That’s a major shift from the 8% cut proposed earlier this year. But, as always in Sacramento, it’s complicated. 🧵

Might be a short week—but it’s another busy one for University of California. Over the weekend, Governor Gavin Newsom and the Legislature finalized the state budget. What does it mean for UC? Our budget was held flat, but next year’s budget will need to backfill a $130 million cut from this year. 🧵
