Sueyama Jinja, or Tōzan Shrine, in #Arita, #Saga Prefecture is decorated with pottery throughout. The shrine is dedicated to Emperor Ōjin and Nabeshima Naoshige, who brought Korean potters to Japan. The torii of the shrine is made from Arita-yaki, pottery made in the region.

On 27 Nov Ambassador Maruyama welcomed Dr Steffen Rimner, Assistant Professor, History of International Affairs, School of History, University College Dublin, and Director of the UCD Centre for Asia-Pacific Research, to Japan House. They discussed academic cooperation between Japan and Ireland.

On 4 March, Ambassador Shimada presented his Letter of Credence to President of Ireland , Michael D. Higgins at Áras an Uachtaráin. Mr Patrick O’Donovan TD, Minister for Arts, Media, Communications, Culture and Sport, also attended the ceremony.
