The McAllister Lab UC Davis Biological Sciences UC Davis Center for Neuroscience is excited to announce our week-long Twitter Takeover! We look forward to showcasing the exciting research in our lab, starting with this video of synapse formation in cultured neurons for #MicroscopyMonday!

The McAllister Lab studies how immune molecules regulate brain development, and how immune dysregulation, especially after maternal infection, results in neurologic and psychiatric disorders. We aim to identify new approaches to improve diagnosis and treatment of brain disease.

For our first McAllister Lab grad student spotlight, meet Kathryn Prendergast. She received her B.A. in Psychology UW–Madison. Now, she investigates how immune signaling during gestation impacts offspring’s risk of developing disordered behavior during adulthood.

What an honor to be invited to speak at the UCDavis_Neuro retreat this weekend. Thanks to the community and @neuroneska for the invite to this family-friendly event, and to the students who asked fantastic questions!
