We have recently published an exciting new study in collaboration with the Hatter Cardiovascular Institute, UCL on the effect of SGLT1 on glucose-mediated exacerbation of the ischaemia reperfusion injury model in the heart! Check out the publication here 🫀 - pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39088085/#full…

New preprint w. Eva Maria Funk & René Hägerling + lab Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin: we made a new tool to label lymphatics: anti-LYVE1 single-domain antibodies, AKA nanobodies (👇 video of kidney lymphatics, nanobody in white) Many other potential uses! biorxiv.org/content/10.110… UCL Child Health Kidney Lab

Several years ago, Jennifer Chandler from UCL Child Health Kidney Lab aimed to study glomerular cell crosstalk in a model of childhood kidney failure The result: our first single-cell study, in Journal Of Pathology. Impaired angiogenic signalling is an early driver of disease …thsocjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/pa…

In my Kidney Research UK Fellowship, I want to improve understanding of #childhood #kidneyfailure and how we treat it. So we used #singlecell #RNAseq to deep dive into #glomerularcell #communication in disease to find out! Published in Journal Of Pathology ⬇️ (1/9) shorturl.at/8QC1Q

Congratulations to Jennifer Chandler and the rest of the team on this exciting new work! If you want to learn more about the #scRNAseq analysis of glomerular communication in childhood kidney failure Jennie has done, check out the tweetorial below 👇

Check out this RED-iculously fascinating image on #Red4Research day 🔬 Teams at GOSH, @UCLChildHealth and Hôpital Necker AP-HP have identified a feature of a rare kidney disease in children that could help develop better treatments. Find out more: gosh.nhs.uk/news/potential…

New paper in ASN Kidney360 with Encelo describes new method to obtain cells from urine of children and adults with kidney and bladder conditions. Funded by Kidney Research UK and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children the cells can improve diagnosis and test new treatments. journals.lww.com/kidney360/full…

Read about Dr Jennifer Chandler and the team's latest research finding! They have seen that disrupted messaging between kidney filter cells could be an early feature of a childhood kidney disease and offer a potential treatment target. “This research takes us one step closer to

Thrilled to share a new output from my PhD in David Long’s UCL Child Health Kidney Lab lab UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health, published in DMM Journal doi.org/10.1242/dmm.05… We studied kidney microvascular changes in polycystic kidney disease (PKD), the most common genetic cause of kidney failure (1/5)

Thanks Biomedical Picture of the Day BPoD for highlighting our recent work published in DMM Journal The Company of Biologists.

Congratulations to Daniyal Jafree from Developmental Biology & Cancer, GoshRenal and UCL Renal for excellent basic science oral abstract presentation covering the role of lymphatics in allograft inflammation and rejection noting the tolerogenic immune profile of lymphatics ESOTtransplant #ESOT2025
