Today was a sad day for all the members of UC San Francisco, UCSF Surgery, UCSF School of Medicine. We lost a beloved surgical resident. Evan was a brilliant rising star in our department. He was bright, gifted, hilarious, & skilled surgeon. The world is less without him. He will be missed. #RIP.

Today was a very sad day for UCSF Surgery and UC San Francisco with the loss of our colleague, friend and rising UCSF GS Residency chief resident, Evan Werlin. His passion for surgery and joy of life (and cats!) will buoy us and reinforce our mission to serve.
