This week @SirenRuehs participated in DRAKKAR and @project_IMMERSEI meetings in Grenoble, discussing new developments of the ocean model #NEMO, and specifically how the inclusion of wave impacts can benefit Lagrangian simulations.

Congratulations to @SirenRuehs for receiving a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions postdoc fellowship at Institute for Marine and Atmospheric research Faculty of Science, Utrecht University 🥳🥳 She'll virtually track water parcels to understand how the exchange of heat🔥 and salt🧂 between the Indian, Pacific and Atlantic Oceans impacts future #climate projections🌊🌡️

We've made a lot of progress in our group in understanding how plastics spread through the ocean, but we also investigate other ocean processes. Some are climate-related, so it's good to participate in related discussions!

This week Aike Vonk gave a presentation about frames and narratives in #ocean science communication 👩‍💼. We had a nice discussion about the role of scientists in #ScienceCommunication and shared our experiences with communicating ocean research.

This month we welcome Michael Denes to our team! He will be working as postdoc on numerical modelling of marine plastic pollution and its sources within the NECCTON project.
