We are so happy that we finally get the go ahead to bring therapy pets into our unit to help with the rehab and mental health of our patients. Are there any registered therapy pets out there that would come and brighten our ICU? Pets As Therapy Canine Concern CIO

Fantastic two days in Birmingham, repesenting University Hospitals Sussex at the NOrF conference. Hugely inspired by so many CCO colleagues across the country - lots of great ideas to help improve the care we deliver to critically unwell patients. And we won the award for best poster! 🏆

CCO nurses Niki & Freya showing off our new medical emergency proformas! Created by our colleague Annie, these forms are now the University Hospitals Sussex standard in documentation. In use across all 7 sites, these forms now ensure all patients receive a consistent level of care at a MET call!


Here is lyndsay habberfield launching the new University Hospitals Sussex deteriorating patient Virtual Reality (VR) immersive simulation to colleagues from across the Trust. This innovative use of technology will become part of our popular Deteriorating Patient blended learning programme very soon!
