I welcome the government’s Employment Rights Bill today. This is a once in a generation opportunity to strengthen labour market compliance and enforcement in the UK. I look forward to working with government on the detail to help achieve this ambition.

The creation of the Fair Work Agency has huge potential to deliver better outcomes for workers and a level playing field for business who treat their workers properly. We must work together to deliver this opportunity and the economic growth that will benefit the whole country.
